I have been without internet all weekend at the new place, and this state will continue until next Tuesday. So that’s why you haven’t heard from me all weekend.

But I am indeed moved into Park Slope, and it is lovely. I was scared that Tom wouldn’t like the new place, since he will be living there fairly soon but hadn’t seen it until the stuff was moving in, but he did. And I am happy.

So right now, we’ve constructed the bookcases and put the books in, thereby clearing out about half the boxes. We unpacked a lot of the clothes. We started discussing where we want the “real” furniture when we get it (like a couch), possibly with the anticipated wedding gift money. And we’re thinking about paint and curtains and things of that sort.

There’s nice beige tile floors in the kitchen and bathroom, and a new slightly-less-than-full-size refrigerator and gas oven. Everything needs some serious cleaning. I bought some scary cleaner stuff to try and restore the grout around the tiles in the bathroom to white, and I plan to scrub everything down as soon as I can. My cleaning supplies from drugstore.com are slated to appear today at the office, along with sponges, a water pitcher filter, and various other necessaries. And I bought a broom yesterday.

This week is terribly busy; Tom is working tonight and tomorrow, and I am cleaning and cleaning and cleaning. Then on Wednesday we have premarital counseling, for which I have to finish the reading, and Thursday is more cleaning, and on Friday night I have a night out with some girls from work and friends of a friend who is joining the Peace Corps. I haven’t been to a girls night out since I moved here, so it should be fun. And Saturday . . . more cleaning. :)
